Professionally framed! Signed by hand Perfect condition Etienne van Doorslaer was born in Saint-Remy-les-Chevreuses (France) in 1925 and died in Bruges in 2013. From 1942 to 1949, Van Doorslaer studied at the Sint-Lucas Institute in Ghent. In 1951, Van Doorslaer entered the abbey of Sint-Andries near Bruges, where he studied philosophy and theology as a monk. Van Doorslaer, alias Father Maur, stayed in Paris from 1959 to 1961 on behalf of his monastic order. He often visited exhibitions and galleries there, which brought him into contact with the modern art world
