Published in a small edition by Staeck "It had to be something without screws and without wings, because you bump into everything. I was thinking of a kind of air cushion or something..." - Panamarenko After the poetic Prova Car from 1967 and the Polistes racing car from 1975, Panamarenko started building a floating car in 1991. The idea arose during a trip to Peru in September 1990. The artist decided to make a floating car to fly between the trees; a flying device without propellers and without wings. The K2 gets a styrofoam body in the shape of a rectangular air cushion with rounded corners, an open cabin with a plexiglass windshield in the middle, and four Kevlar fans on the corners. The drive is based on the same principle as that of his Flying backpacks: several propellers with two propeller blades each, each encapsulated in a separate housing, ensure a large air movement Postcard size, see photos front and back.
