early oil on canvas from 1972 by Cyr Frimout, brother of Dirk Frimout. Cyr Frimout presents objects and situations from everyday reality. The landscape becomes more important in the works and it serves as a soft blurry background against which the realistic objects in strong colors stand out sharply. He opens doors and windows to nature where one can breathe the fresh air. The woman is also present in his work, not obtrusively, but playfully through clothes and linen that suggest the shape of her body. In a seemingly loose context, Cyr Frimout brings together all kinds of elements from everyday life. The imagination frolics on the canvas just as the laundry flutters on the washing line outside. Cyr Frimout succeeds in integrating elements from surrealism, pop art, hyper-realism and the figurative tradition into a personal vision. There is a festive atmosphere and a magical color about his work. It's like a collection of absurd poetry.
